So that’s me in the picture just
over there to your right. Here’s the
scoop on me and my business: I have always
been fascinated by space, color, kinetics
and making things fit together. I received
my bachelor’s degree in fine arts
with an emphasis in sculpture, my mediums
were metal and fabric. After school I became
more interested in clothing, or, as I saw
it, collaging in 3-dimensions. I combined
this with my love for hand- made goods and
individual style and voila, Identity Crisis
Clothing was born.
I am most interested in creating clothing that performs multiple
functions or can operate as more than one piece: the kinetic skirt, for
example, operates like a roman shade providing it’s owner with several
length options from one skirt. Playing around with basic systems to
create dynamic clothing keeps me motivated as a designer.
Originally I am from Virgina (yeah, it’s for lovers) but I’ve been lucky
enough to land myself here in the lone star state. Since moving here I
have joined forces with a gang of crafty ladies otherwise known as the
Austin Craft Mafia. Check out mi famillia: www.austincraftmafia.com
I am also a cohost of Stylelicious
on the DIY network. Stylelicious features
8 of the Craft Mafia members, we show
you how to create and revamp super fly
clothing. Oh, and one last thing, I coproduce
STITCH, the best
little indie fashion show and craft bazaar
this side of the Mississippie. I heart
it the most.

was taken by Miss
